About us

The Alliance of Ukrainian Universities was founded in the spring of 2023 in response to the challenges faced by the Ukrainian state and society after Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. The Alliance currently includes Dnipro University of Technology, Kyiv School of Economics, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Sumy State University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Ukrainian Catholic University. On February 13, 2026, after a period of participation as associated partners, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and Alfred Nobel University joined the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities as full members.

During the ongoing war, our universities demonstrated remarkable resilience and unwavering solidarity. They have actively supported their students and faculty, ensuring continued education and well-being in the face of adversity. The Alliance recognizes that a strong and prosperous Ukraine requires a focus on several key areas:

1. Developing Human Capital: Fostering a skilled and educated workforce is crucial for national reconstruction and sustainable growth.
2. Preserving Ukrainian Culture: Upholding and promoting Ukrainian heritage is essential for national identity and societal cohesion.
3. Building Strong Social Ties: Fostering positive connections between citizens is vital for a stable and thriving society.

Universities embrace their pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of their citizens, promoting national unity, and driving societal development. Through collaboration and the combined expertise of its member institutions, the Alliance aims to empower universities to serve as the cornerstones in rebuilding and securing a bright future for Ukraine.
