The first educational program “Project Management for Local Communities” has begun

“I am impressed by the enthusiasm and readiness of the participants to develop their new projects despite all the difficulties created by the war. Some want to restore an uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the areas affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station. Others are developing projects for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of residents of frontline territories.”Valentyna Zasadko, Director of the School of Public Administration at UCU, lecturer of the educational program “Project Management for Local Communities”.

Today in Lviv, the first educational program “Project Management for Local Communities” has started within the project “Strengthening the Capacity of Communities for Recovery through Piloting Their Interaction with Universities”. Representatives from 12 selected pilot communities from different parts of Ukraine have delegated their specialists to participate in the training.

On the first day of the training, experts from the Alliance universities shared project management skills with community representatives, discussing how to choose project ideas, set specific goals, plan deadlines, and communicate with stakeholders. Community experts also had the opportunity to work in groups on challenges that may arise during project work.

The “Project Management for Local Communities” training will continue until January 18 at the Ukrainian Catholic University. On the final day, participants will present the results of their joint work, including their project idea. Overall, community experts will undergo six such training programs. The project “Strengthening the Capacity of Communities for Recovery through Piloting Their Interaction with Universities” is implemented by the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
