“It’s hard to believe, but compared to American and European universities, academic cooperation with Canada is significantly lagging behind. There is a very poor understanding here of the potential of Ukrainian education and research cooperation, and in some cases, we even had to explain that higher education in Ukraine has nothing to do with the Soviet past or the post-Soviet space,” said Halyna Protsyk, Head of the Department of International Academic Relations at UCU.
Recently, representatives of two universities from the Alliance participated in an international education forum in Vancouver, Canada, organized by the Canadian Bureau for International Education. This event usually discusses the most relevant issues of the global education market. This year, the forum brought together over 1150 participants from 40+ countries. The only representatives from Ukraine were Halyna Protsyk, Konstyantyn Kyrychenko, Head of the International Cooperation Department of Sumy State University, and Mykola Trofymenko, Rector of Mariupol State University.
Halyna Protsyk also had the honor of presenting a session on the resilience of higher education in Ukraine in times of war and our integration into the European educational space.
